Peter received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan in 2001, and then carried out postdoctoral work at Harvard and MIT in biological engineering and developmental biology. In 2004, Peter joined the chemical engineering department at Michigan, and now leads the systems biology working group. In 2009, co-founded the company Foodwiki LLC.
